LOST's Josh Holloway to Star in INTELLIGENCE!

Just received some crazy-great news: Josh Holloway, who starred in Lost, is slated to star in the upcoming CBS pilot for Intelligence, which is based on my book, Dissident.

The Deadline Hollywood article is here

When I spoke to Tripp Vinson last week, he said they were meeting with someone huge but didn't divulge the name.

Wow!

So here's a funny story. Normally, when a development hits, either Tripp or my film agent, Joe Veltre, will get in touch. This time, however, I was scrolling through Facebook, and I came across a tweet about it...

I reread the thing and was like... um... that's my show...

Then my head exploded with excitement.

Ironically, I've never seen Lost. People have been telling me for years to watch it. Now, obviously, I will!

But first, it's back to writing. I have a little less than an hour left and am hoping to finish a first pass on the current chapter of Paint It Black.

Hope you're all doing well, and thanks, everyone, for sharing in the excitement with me. I'm always pumped to have some new piece to announce. Hopefully, I'll be posting more soon!

Congrats!

"Then my head exploded with excitement."

I first read that sentence as saying "Then my head exploded with excrement."

I'm really glad I read that wrong.

Awesome John! I remember you commenting in your last post how Tripp told you to celebrate the milestones.

So go celebrate again John, if you're not still hungover on the heels of your most recent milestone.

I hope things keep motoring along like this for you. It's going to be a fun Thrillerfest and Necon!

Lol, I can actually imagine you do the double take when you realized you're reading about your own show!

How crazy is that?!!! I'm so happy for you.

MIKE: Thanks!

No one who knows me -- and especially no one who knew me when I was a kid -- would be surprised to hear that my head had exploded with excrement.

Thanks, PETE!

We're celebrating. So weird, seeing it happen so quickly. But great, man, great.

Ended up communicating with Tripp again yesterday, and he's psyched about Josh Holloway coming on board.

Definitely looking forward to Thrillerfest and Necon, my friend!

LOTA! Thanks -- apparently, the casting people tried your son, Gabriel's namesake, first, but he was busy with "toddler stuff."

I am so thrilled for you!!! Leaving RTM was the best thing that ever happened to both of us.(but I do miss the kids) Totally loving retirement and can't wait to read your book. I will definitely watch the show. Miss you! Cindi (Stephens)

WOW JOHN!!
Keep this up and you will replace "Big Jessie" as the most famous person I know. Big Jessie was all the rave back in Dillsburg where he would fart most of the star spangled banner.

When you decide to celebrate give me a date and time.

CINDI! So great to hear from you! Thanks for stopping by. I'm glad to know you're enjoying retirement.

I'll always have mixed feelings about leaving Springton. I really, really miss the kids and actual teaching, but I don't miss the... well, you know what I don't miss. And bottom line: I'm so excited to be writing full-time, and everything that's happening now is literally a dream come true.

Take care!

ANDY: Now I have a goal! If I could topple Big Jessie... well, I don't want to aim too high, or I'm sure to jinx myself. Mother Irony is always ready to strike.

One of these days, we'll actually get it together.

KRISTINA: Thanks so much for posting the news! Loved your post, and thanks for pointing out that while the news outlets label DISSIDENT "an unpublished novel," it does have a home.

LAZ: Thanks, man! Good to hear from you, and sorry you didn't make it out the other day. Thanks for spreading the news. Hope to see you soon!
